Aims

This course aims to further develop an understanding of professional art practice and introduce the essential elements of running a creative business. Ideal candidates should exhibit strong personal creativity and motivation, leadership, initiative, team working abilities and an aptitude for self directed learning.

Entry Requirements

• FETAC Level 5 Award in an appropriate discipline e.g. Level 5 FETAC award in Art and Design, Level 5 FETAC Award in Fashion and Textiles or Level 5 FETAC award in Graphic Design
• Portfolio of art work
• Interview

Course Content

The course will cover the making of artwork, tendering for commissions, organising exhibitions, dealing with local and state agencies and running a creative business. Work experience and will play an extensive role in the course work of all modules. Links with third level colleges in Ireland and the UK are in development stages.
