Aims

Students will develop their talents in a wide range of visual and artistic skills. Students will prepare a portfolio of work so that they may proceed to further study at third level.

Entry Requirements

• Leaving Certificate 5 passes or
• Leaving Certificate Applied or
• Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme
• A personal interview
• Samples of student work
  

Course Content

Drawing, Design, Figure Studies, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Appreciation of Art, Craft and Design, Communications and Work Experience.

Career Opportunities

Past students have secured places in a range of art colleges such as NCAD, DIT, IADT and a variety of other Colleges throughout the country.

PLEASE NOTE:

Entry to some third level colleges is still determined in part by results gained in the Leaving Certificate.

This year culminates in an exhibition of work for students, staff and invited guests.
