To prepare students for employment within the security industry and to prepare them for the entrance examinations for the Garda Siochana.

• Leaving Certificate or
• Leaving Certificate Applied or
• Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme
• A personal interview

Course Content

Security Systems and Procedures, Safety and Health at Work, Business Administration, Legal Studies, Communications, Work Experience, Computers and IT Skills, Exam Techniques, Customer Services and First Aid / Fitness.

Career Opportunities

Students who successfully complete the course will have the qualifications/skills necessary to take up employment in the Garda Siochana, Defence Forces, Airport Police, Prison Service and Security Industry. Progress to Third level.
