Students will acquire an up-to-date knowledge of computers and their applications, understanding and applying structured programming concepts / techniques in the design and writing of computer programmes.

Computer Programming, Computer Architecture, Spreadsheet Methods, Database Methods, Maths for Computing, Web Authoring, Systems.

Career Opportunities

Students will acquire the skills necessary to take up employment as trainee computer programmers, technicians, website designers. Students can progress to Higher certificate and degree courses in several IOT Colleges.

Course Content

Networks, Windows Programming (Visual Basic), Object Oriented Programming (Java), Operating Systems, Data Communications, Relational Database, Web Authoring and Communications.

Assessment and Certification

FETAC level 6 - Networks and Software Systems (CNSSX).

External Examiner

Further Education and Training Awards Council - FETAC.

Career Opportunities

Students will acquire the skills necessary to take up employment as trainee computer systems programmers, technicians, website designers. They will also be equipped in Networks Technical Support and other computer related areas. Students can progress to Higher certificate and degree courses in several IOT Colleges.
