Aims

Students will be prepared for direct employment in the Hotel, Catering and Tourism Industry. Students will also be in a position to proceed to further training in several IT Colleges and Fáilte Ireland Training Centres.

Course Content

Food Preparation, Food Preservation and Processing, Food and Beverage Service, Hospitality and Accommodation, Customer Service, Communications, Information Technology, Safety and Health at Work, occupational first aid, transnational experience and Work Experience.

Work experience is provided as an integral part of the course in the following areas:

As part of the programme the college provides a 3 week European exchange programme with a catering college in Hungary.

Career Opportunities

Students who successfully complete the course will have the qualifications and skills necessary to take up employment in the Hotel, Catering and Tourism Industry.

For those students who are both interested and suitably qualified there is the option to progress to related certificate or diploma courses in several IT Colleges throughout the country.
