The Knitting and Stitching Show is the definitive stitching exhibition in the UK and Ireland featuring galleries of work from leading International textile artists and groups, specialist suppliers and practical workshops. It attracts many thousands of visitors to the RDS every year in November. This year at the knitting and stitching show, Coláiste Ide College of Further Education exhibited a range of drawing, design, embroidery and fashion from its Fashion and Textiles Portfolio Preparation Course. This is a one-year introductory course in fashion and textiles from which student’s progress to colleges all over Ireland and the UK. The exhibition featured the work of previous students and documented their progression to further study. The exhibition was prepared, co-ordinated and staffed by current students as part of their work-experience module. The work on display was very well received at the show and commended by visitors for the quality of work and the standard of the exhibition. The college is currently planning its show for 2008.
