FET College Íde Finglas has a very active "student social life". These socials are a great way to meet other students.

Students attending full-time approved Courses in FET College Íde Finglas are eligible to apply for a maintenance grant. The grant is available to first time PLC students. 

Our current student population includes people from Albania to Zimbabwe.

Students will develop their talents in a wide range of visual and artistic skills. Students will prepare a portfolio of work so that they may proceed to further study at Third level. This course gives students over the age of 18 the possibility to be selected for a Eramus + European mobility exchange (subject to funding).

This course offers the student the opportunity to explore and develop skills in many aspects of Design. It provides a solid foundation year for further studies. This intensive portfolio course provides a strong grounding in drawing and design skills for entry into Third level. Students are introduced to the textiles and fashion disciplines of combined materials, embroidery, garment construction and pattern drafting.

This course is aimed at students who are interested in pursuing a career in Accounting Finance. Learners are taught key accounting concepts, principles of accounting and the knowledge and skills required to understand personal and business taxation regulations. They will gain an understanding of core business functionsin management, marketing and law.

Students will gain a general education in the Business Studies area, together with a specialised knowledge of Marketing & Human Resources.

Students will acquire the necessary skills to become proficient in modern office technology. They will also gain the knowledge and skills required for effective office administration.

This course will provide successful students with the knowledge and the entry requirements necessary to access science based programmes at higher education level. The course also aims to provide students with the knowledge and the skills necessary to gain employment in the science and pharmaceutical industries.

This course provides successful graduates with the opportunity to seek employment in the sport and leisure industry. Students gain the knowledge and understanding of physical fitness and exercise on both a practical and a theoretical basis.

This course aims to provide the successful graduates with the knowledge, skills and competence to work in the sports and leisure industry in careers such as personal training, group fitness instructing, pool lifeguard and sports massage therapy

This one-year course gives the learner a comprehensive introduction to the travel and tourism industries.  Students are equipped with best-practice skills required to secure employment in the tourism industry, as cabin crew, airport ground handling staff or in travel consultancy.

QQI Level 5 Award - Community and Health Services (5M4468)

This course is a one - year Post Leaving Diploma, which gives students the key skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career in the Wellness and Beauty Industry. while at the same time obtaining a sound general knowledge in areas needed to function in the wellness environment. This course leads to an ITEC Beauty Specialist Diploma and a certificate from FLAIR in Nail Technology. This course gives students over the age of 18 the possibility to be selected for a Eramus + European mobility exchange (subject to funding).

This one year course in Culinary Arts combines practical and theoretical modules, designed to enable the learner to secure longterm employment within the catering industry or to progress to Higher Education.  This course gives students over the age of 18 the possibility to be selected for an Erasmus+ European Mobility Exchange placement (subject to funding).

The Open Learning Centre was started in September 1994, with the objective of providing “quality flexible education to the Unemployed, Lone-parents, House-Parents, and Disables. In fact anyone who needs flexibility in their education”.

This course is a one – year Post Leaving Certificate Course, which gives students the key skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career in the Hospitality Industry. The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the relevant knowledge, skills and competence to work autonomously using a range of specialized skills in a professional kitchen.

Build a strong broad foundation in Computing: course includes Mobile App Development, Computer Programming (Java, PHP, JavaScript, HTML5/CSS), Virtual Machines / Operating Systems, Computer Networking and Computer Hardware. Emphasis placed on Cyber Security throughout programme. Progress onto third level to pursue a degree or into industry.

Study Skills Support for VTOS & BTE Students can help you with Essay Writing, Assignment Preparation , Structure & Layout, Research Skills, Spelling Grammar and Punctuation, Bibliography & Referencing, Study & Reading Techniques, Assistive Technology

The Back to Education Initiative provides part time Further Education programmes for young people and adults. The aim is to give people an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other commitments. 

The Childcare Level 6 programme is a one-year programme facilitates suitable adults in acquiring qualifications for employment opportunities in the area of childcare and as Classroom Assistants or Special Needs Assistants.

This two-year part-time programme facilitates suitable adults in acquiring qualifications for employment in the area of healthcare and as healthcare assistants in residential and non-residential settings. It is ideal for people in receipt of a Carers Allowance or on any Social Welfare payment. People with a Medial Card and Early School leavers are also welcome to apply for eligibility.

Colaiste Eoin TY students collaborated with Colaiste Ide on a project which looked into measures to adopt in circumstances of extreme weather conditions.

This course aims to provide the successful graduates with the opportunity to gain entry into Physiotherapy courses in a range of universities in Europe

This course is aimed at individuals with a keen interest in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching. This innovative Level-6 QQI certified programme is specifically tailored as an access programme for third level studies.

A new Games Development award is in the pipeline, with the potential for progression to Groningen University in the Netherlands.

This course gives students the academic, physical, technical, tactical & psychological knowledge necessary for the demands as a student athlete with particular emphasis on soccer coaching.  Many past students have gained lucrative soccer scholarships to the USA.

The art, fashion and textiles class had a very successful workshop with the textile artist Inge Vandoorsan.

Over the February Midterm break, the catering students visited the Catex Exhibition at the RDS where suppliers and chefs meet annually to discuss innovations within the industry and competitions are held between various colleges and professionals.

Level 6 classes 8421 and 9221 are currently in the midst of running their Culinary Events in the restaurant in the college. These events have specific themes as chosen by each class team such as Around The World in 60 Minutes, Alice in Wonderland, Taste of Asia and Tex-Mex.

FET College Íde Finglas students who are currently on Erasmus work placement attended the Good Friday Procession in Valletta, Malta. 

Students from FET College Íde Finglas's Art Portfolio Preparation course, and those of the Fashion Design Portfolio Preparation course (both QQI Level 5), are feeling the flush of success this week, as they begin their Erasmus+ work placements in Florence, Italy.

The Erasmus programme is an EU funded programme that organises student exchanges abroad. 

Earn while you learn with the Accounting Technician Apprenticeship, delivered this September by Accounting Technicians Ireland in conjunction with Colaiste Ide. If you are a school-leaver or a mature student considering a career in Accountancy, then this programme could be the perfect route for you. You will work with a local business or practice four days a week in large or small accountancy practices, service firms and industry employers who are taking on students as apprentices.

The Commis Chef Apprenticeship is the starting point for a career as a professional chef. It’s a formal structured two year education and training programme incorporating periods of off-the job knowledge and skills development in a college or centre and work-based knowledge and skills development in an approved hotel or restaurant kitchen.

FET College Íde Finglas provides an opportunity for you to investigate your interest in Forensics and Investigative Sciences. The study of Forensics, Criminal Law and Criminology is an excellent preparation for application to An Garda Siochana, the Defence Forces, forensic science laboratories and the State Laboratory.

FET College Íde Finglas is offering an innovative Pre-University Level 5 Human Health Performance Programme starting September 2020. This course has been designed in conjunction with universities, based upon the QQI entry requirements for science-based degrees.
