Hayden Guy - Past Games Development Student

My name is Hayden Guy I'm a 24 year old Multimedia student studying in DCU and I took the Games Design & Development programme in Colaiste Ide.

This programme served as a stepping stone for me as it allowed me to pursue a level 8 university course once finished.

Studying modules such as Java coding, video editing, web and digital design, gave me a distinct advantage going into my further studies as I had a strong understanding of the core fundamentals of what I am now studying. While others in my course often seemed to struggle to pick up new skills and software, I was able to share the knowledge I had learned from taking the games design program and assist them in any way I could.

I am extremely happy with the time I spent studying in Colaiste Ide. For me learning by doing something is more important than being told how to do something and this course allowed me to study in a way suited to my style of learning. I cannot recommend it enough for anyone looking to get a start in this field.

Anne Kane - Beauty Therapy

I worked as a legal secretary for 13 years and made was made redundant in 2017.  This was a good opportunity for me to look at what I really wanted to do.  I worked as a care assistant at one time and knew I liked working with people.  Initially, I thought about doing a massage course but in the end thought it would be too limiting.  I checked around various colleges to see what was on offer and came across Colaiste Ide’s website and immediately applied for their course as Beauty Specialist.

It was a little daunting going back to college but I found the teachers excellent and dedicated. They were always there if you needed help or advice with work assignments or encouragement in general.  They worked hard and wanted the best outcome for their students.

Beauty Specialist is a great course and I would have no problem in recommending this course to anyone who is thinking of taking up a career in beauty in Colaiste Ide.
