Course Information
The aim of this course is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skills and competence relevant to the theory and practice of child development and learning within Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) settings.
This course will cover the following topics:
- Holistic child development from infancy to adolescence.
- Physical, cognitive, language, social and emotional development.
- Major theories of child development and learning.
- The influence of family, culture and environment on development.
- The role of play in learning and development.
- Observation and assessment of children's progress.
- Planning activities to support holistic development.
