Mens Grooming Traineeship

PLSS Code 475507 | Fee Free

Designed to meet the needs of the up-to-the-minute men’s grooming industry, this programme develops far more than barbering skills alone. Learners gain expertise in men's hair cutting, styling and finishing, facial hair shaping, detailing, client consultation, scalp and hair treatments, and professional grooming services. The programme also includes specialist training in Indian Head Massage, providing valuable additional skills that are highly sought after in today's quality salons and men’s grooming establishments.

Alongside extensive practical training, learners develop a thorough understanding of business awareness, professional conduct, customer care, anatomy and physiology, infection prevention and control, and workplace practice. These skills prepare graduates not only for employment in top salons and barbershops but also provide a solid foundation for those who aspire to establish and manage their own successful men’s grooming business in the future.

Delivered as a Traineeship, this programme is free of charge for eligible learners and participants may be able to retain their social welfare entitlements while undertaking their studies, subject to individual circumstances. Learners also benefit from valuable work experience opportunities.

Due to the programme's strong reputation and excellent employment outcomes, places are highly sought after. Entry is by interview, and where applications exceed available places, selection is competitive. This commitment to quality ensures a motivated learning environment and helps maintain the programme's reputation as one of the leading pathways into the men's grooming profession.
