PRE-UNIVERSITY HOME ECONOMICS TEACHING LEVEL 6
The one-year advanced course equips students with the skills and knowledge required to pursue further study in all aspects of Home Economics - culinary arts, textiles and business. This is an exciting opportunity with new progression routes to Home Economics and Nutrition BSc, with a view to teaching Home Economics at 2nd level.
Professional Cookery Level 5
This one year course in Culinary Arts combines practical and theoretical modules, designed to enable the learner to secure longterm employment within the catering industry or to progress to Higher Education. This course gives students over the age of 18 the possibility to be selected for an Erasmus+ European Mobility Exchange placement (subject to funding).
Professional Cookery Level 6
This course is a one – year Post Leaving Certificate Course, which gives students the key skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career in the Hospitality Industry. The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the relevant knowledge, skills and competence to work autonomously using a range of specialized skills in a professional kitchen.
Hospitality Operations Level 5
This is a one year course which allows students to explore hospitality operations. The course provides students with a range of hospitality service skills including customer relations, service and accommodation maintenance and food and beverage preparation. This course leads to a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Hospitality Operations (5M2083) and an Environmental Health Offices Association Certificate.
Hospitality Operations Level 6
This is a one year full-time course which gives students key skills and advanced knowledge necessary to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. The course provides students with an opportunity to obtain experience in a wide range of specialised and supervisory skills in key areas of hospitality enterprises such as front office supervision, food and beverage and business systems. Three days of week are in college and two days on work placement. This course gives students over the age of 18 the possibility of participating on a to Higher Education European mobility exchange. This course leads to a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Hospitality Operations (6M2095)
